What Does a Small Business App Cost in Las Vegas?
If you run a salon, tattoo shop, restaurant, real estate team or home service business in Las Vegas, you've probably wondered whether your business should have its own app. Then you start looking for an app developer in Las Vegas, and the trail goes cold: no prices, just "contact us for a quote." Here's a plain-English guide to what a small business app actually involves, what it should cost, and how to tell whether it's worth it for you.
Why app prices are so hard to find
Most app builders you'll come across are software firms set up for bigger clients: funded startups, large brands and custom platforms. Their projects involve teams of designers, developers and project managers, and their pricing reflects that. Many don't list prices at all, and it's common to hear quotes of $10,000 or more for a custom app.
A neighborhood salon or a family restaurant usually doesn't need that. You need something simpler: an app that puts your business on your customers' home screens and makes it easy for them to book, order or find you.
What a small business actually needs in an app
Most local businesses don't need a complicated app. They need a few things done well:
- Booking or ordering: a quick way to book an appointment, reserve a table or request a quote, ideally in a tap or two.
- Your menu or services: prices, photos and descriptions that are easy to browse on a phone.
- Updates and announcements: a spot for specials, new hours, flash sales or last-minute openings. Some apps add push notifications so customers hear about it right away.
- Maps and directions: one tap to get directions, which matters in a city where customers come from all over the valley.
- Loyalty and favorites: saved favorites, a rewards card or member perks that give regulars a reason to keep your app.
- A branded home-screen icon: your logo on a customer's phone, next to the apps they use every day. It's a quiet, constant reminder that you exist.
You don't need all of these on day one. Pick the one or two that matter most to your customers and start there.
What that looks like for different businesses
- Salons and barbers: booking, a services and price list, and a way to save a favorite stylist.
- Tattoo shops: artist portfolios, a consultation request and aftercare instructions customers can pull up anytime.
- Restaurants: the menu, hours, directions and this week's specials.
- Realtors: featured listings, neighborhood guides and a quick way to reach you.
- Home services: a request-a-quote form, your service areas and a tap-to-call button.
Why "just put my website in an app" isn't enough
Here's something many owners don't know: Apple's App Store guidelines expect an app to be more than a repackaged website. Apps that are just a website in a frame, with nothing app-like added, are a common reason Apple turns apps down.
That's why real app features matter. A branded icon, a layout built for phones and useful features like booking, saved favorites or maps give customers a reason to open your app instead of a browser tab, and give Apple's reviewers a reason to approve it.
What Neon Robot Studio charges
We're a Las Vegas studio, and we think small businesses deserve to see prices before they pick up the phone. Here are ours, up front:
Starter App: $997 one-time
We start from your existing website, so your content and links carry over, and turn it into a branded iPhone app with your logo, colors and app icon. It includes real app features like push notifications, tap-to-call and directions, so it's more than a website wrapper. We handle the App Store listing, screenshots and submission, and the app is listed under your business name. Once your developer account is ready, most Starter Apps are ready to submit in about 1 to 2 weeks.
Plus App: $1,997 one-time
Everything in Starter, plus one or two custom features, like booking, a map or saved favorites, and an Android version on Google Play. Most Plus Apps are ready to submit in about 2 to 3 weeks.
App Care: $49 a month (optional)
Apps need looking after. Apple and Google change their rules and systems every year, and your hours, prices and photos change too. App Care covers updates as your business changes, keeping your app live through those policy changes, and small content edits. Bigger new features are quoted separately, and you can cancel anytime.
You test your app on your own phone and approve it before anything is submitted. Apple and Google make the final call and usually review within a few days. We can't promise an exact launch date, but we handle any changes they ask for.
The store fees, and why you pay them directly
Apple charges $99 a year for its Developer Program, and Google Play charges a one-time $25 fee if you add Android. You pay these directly, not through us. That's on purpose: your app is published under your own developer account, so the App Store shows your business name and the app stays yours.
Getting set up is simple:
- Enroll in the Apple Developer Program as a business. Apple asks businesses for a D-U-N-S number, a free business ID from Dun & Bradstreet. If you don't have one yet, request it first, since it can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.
- Invite Neon Robot Studio as App Manager in App Store Connect. That's one invite, and no passwords are shared.
- We build, you test and approve, and then we handle the submission.
If you ever stop working with us, you simply remove our access and keep your app.
Is an app worth it for your business?
An app makes the most sense when customers come back again and again: regular haircuts, weekly takeout, repeat home services, or clients you stay in touch with for years. If most of your customers only visit once, a strong website and Google Business Profile may do more for you right now. We're happy to tell you honestly which camp you're in.
No website yet? The Starter App is built from your existing site, so start with one of our website packages and we can turn it into an app after.
FAQ
How much does a small business app cost in Las Vegas?
It depends on the builder and the features. Custom builds from software firms often run into five figures. With Neon Robot Studio, a Starter App is $997, a Plus App with custom features and Android is $1,997, and optional App Care is $49 a month. Apple's $99 a year developer fee is paid by you, directly to Apple.
Do I need technical skills to get an iPhone app for my business?
No. You enroll with Apple, send us one App Manager invite and test the app on your phone. We handle the build and the App Store submission.
Will Apple approve my app?
Apple decides, so nobody can guarantee approval. We build with Apple's guidelines in mind, aiming for a real app rather than a plain website wrapper, and we handle any changes the review asks for.
Can I get an Android app too?
Yes. The Plus App includes an Android version on Google Play. Google charges a one-time $25 developer fee, which you pay directly.
The bottom line
A small business app doesn't have to be a five-figure project. Focus on the few features your customers will actually use, make sure it's a real app and not just your website in a frame, and work with someone who shows you the price up front.
